Planning your application
Bringing a spouse or common-law partner to Canada involves evidence about both the sponsor and the relationship. A clear history helps explain how your relationship developed and how your documents fit together.
How Value Visa can help
We review sponsor and applicant information, help organize the relationship timeline and identify inconsistencies or missing records before filing. Previous marriages, periods apart, prior refusals and current immigration status should be discussed early so that the application reflects your actual circumstances.
Your review is specific to your circumstances. We explain the proposed work and confirm fees in writing before beginning. Government fees are separate.
Documents to discuss
Bring the records you already have to the consultation. This starting list does not replace the personalized checklist for your application.
- Sponsor's citizenship or permanent residence documents
- Marriage or common-law evidence and relationship timeline
- Passports and prior immigration history
- Previous marriage or sponsorship records, where relevant
For the initial inquiry, describe your situation and deadlines. Ask us how to share sensitive documents before emailing identity or financial records.

Does sponsorship automatically give my partner a work permit?
No automatic work authorization should be assumed. A work permit is a separate question that depends on the applicable category and your partner's circumstances.
What will a consultation cover?
We discuss your goal, immigration history and the documents available, identify questions that need further review and explain the scope of assistance. Fees are confirmed in writing before work begins; government fees are separate.
Can Value Visa guarantee approval or a processing date?
No. IRCC makes immigration decisions, and processing times can change. We help prepare a complete, consistent application and explain the next steps without promising an outcome.
